The Sufficiency of Christ

Text: Colossians 1 : 19

In salvation, the Son submits to the Father to play the role of Savior, to become a servant according to the eternal plan of the godhead. The sufficiency of Christ’s submission is explored in this sermon, with emphasis on the loving obedience displayed when he chose to lay down his life. The Father is the source of redemption, Jesus goes out to accomplish it, while the Spirit applies the finished work of Christ to the life of the believer, in salvation.
Christ is sufficient for everything. God offers nothing outside of Christ because all fullness dwells in him.
The fullness that is in Christ is inexhaustible.
