Hannah: The Trial & Triumph of Faith

Text: 1 Samuel 1

Hannah is described as a woman of remarkable faith. In this sermon, consideration is given to the context, the trial and the triumph of her commendable faith. Hannah demonstrates that the believer has twins in the soul – joy and sorrow which go hand-in-hand, never parting. Sorrow keeps the believers’ feet firmly grounded in Christ, a Man of Sorrows. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Faith substantiates the things hoped for. Hannah’s saving faith allowed her to the rejoice in the salvation of the Lord. “Neither is there any Rock like our God,” she declares.
