The Kingdom of God

Text: Mark 4:26–34


In a world marked by conflict and strife, the sermon underscores God’s unwavering control over all aspects of existence. Despite the rise and fall of earthly powers and false gods, God’s divine plan remains unaltered and unconquerable. Central to Jesus’ ministry was the proclamation of the kingdom of his Father—a kingdom characterised by God’s royal rule and authority. The sermon highlights the interconnectedness of God’s kingdom and His divine will, as exemplified in the model prayer taught by Jesus. Through the invocation “Thy kingdom come,” believers express their desire for God’s will to be fulfilled on earth. The rule of God’s kingdom extends to every aspect of human life, from the grandest events to the minute details. Through insightful parables, the sermon illustrates the transformative power of God’s word (the seed) and its reception in the human heart (the soil), illuminating the profound truths embedded in Jesus’ teachings.
